Foreign Investor Guide: 6 Steps to Set Up a Company in Saudi Arabia Without Friction
From the Ministry of Investment licence to day-one operations: a clear map of the steps, timelines and the common mistakes that delay launch.
Step 1: Choose the activity and entity
Defining the activity precisely determines the licence type, capital requirements and permitted ownership. Most activities allow 100% foreign ownership.
Steps 2–4: Licence, registration and filings
Obtain the Ministry of Investment (MISA) licence, then the commercial registration, then register with Zakat & Tax, social insurance and the chamber of commerce. This phase usually takes 3–5 weeks if documents are complete and attested.
Steps 5–6: Premises, bank account and operations
Secure a national address, open the bank account, issue visas for the founding team and start operating. What delays investors most: documents not attested in the home country, and choosing an activity that doesn't match the real business.
We accompany investors through every step and coordinate with authorities until a ready-to-operate company is delivered.
